Former American Heritage High School star golfer T.J. Vogel, a two-time All-Pac-10 honoree at USC, has joined the University of Florida men’s golf team, head coach Buddy Alexander announced today. Vogel will be eligible to compete for the Gators in the 2011-12 season.

“We’re ecstatic to have T.J. Vogel join our program,” said Alexander. “We recruited him when he was coming out of high school and we’re glad we got a second chance with him. He’s a dynamite player and an even better kid.”

The Cooper City product is coming off a stellar two-year stint at USC. Last season with the Trojans, Vogel recorded a pair of top-five finishes and ranked as high as seventh nationally in the Golfweek men’s collegiate individual rankings.
